Safe zones TikTok

TikTok safe zone

Keep text and logos at least 240 px from the top, 660 px from the bottom, 120 px from the left and 120 px from the right of a 1080×1920 TikTok video. Checked 23 October 2026.

TikTok ships an official In-Feed ad template. We measured its cut-out pixel by pixel; the organic zone uses the same numbers.

TikTok publishes safe-zone files for ads only. Organic uses the same app chrome, so the official ads template is the conservative proxy. Community advice is looser. Choose by risk: use ads values for anything that may be boosted.

Measured by us from TikTok's own downloadable template (standard LTR, 1-line caption variant). Safe area narrows below y=0.4375: the right edge becomes 0.722 (right rail column ~0.278 wide = 300 px at 1080). Longer captions/anchors move the bottom up: TikTok says the zone depends on caption length; AdKit measures the Anchor 4-line variant at bottom 0.528 (1014 px). Arabic RTL mirrors the rail to the left. AdNabu's 160/440/80 are the same numbers on a 720x1280 canvas.

Where sources disagree

Two sets of numbers circulate for TikTok: 160/440/80 px and 240/660/120 px. They are the same zone at two canvas sizes (720×1280 and 1080×1920). We settled it by measuring TikTok’s own template PNG at 2880×5120. TikTok also notes that the zone grows with caption length: with a four-line caption the bottom margin reaches about 53%.

Quick answers

Does a long caption change the TikTok safe zone?

Yes. The numbers here assume a short caption. With four lines, keep roughly the bottom half clear.

Why is there no safe zone for square or horizontal TikTok ads?

TikTok’s templates for 1:1 and 16:9 are phone mock-ups with no measurable cut-out. Rather than invent one, we say so.

Where is the right-hand rail?

From 44% of the height down, across the right 28% of the width, according to the official template.
