Broadcast title and action safe safe zone

Keep text and logos at least 54 px from the top, 54 px from the bottom, 96 px from the left and 96 px from the right of a 1920×1080 Broadcast title and action safe video. Checked 23 October 2026.

Where sources disagree

EBU R95 (3.5% action safe, 5% graphics safe) replaces the classic 90% and 80% boxes in European broadcast. The classic numbers are kept here because many delivery specs still quote them.

Quick answers

Is title safe still needed for online video?

Not for overscan, but the 5% margin is a sensible minimum for any screen with rounded corners.

What is the difference between action safe and title safe?

Action safe is where important picture should stay; title safe, further in, is where text should stay.

Which one should I use?

Follow the delivery spec. Without one, EBU R95.
